DescriptionThe HyperRAM speed test on Intel's Board Test System (BTS) for the Cyclone 10 LP Evaluation Kit employs a small burst of 8 words.

S/Labs' HyperBus Memory Controller can achieve significantly higher bandwidth on HyperRAM and HyperFlash devices with larger burst counts.

The FPGA bitstream image (.SOF) included in this example upgrades the .SOF image used in Intel's Board Test System for C10LPEK to use a burst of 128 words. The result is a throughput of 281 Mbytes/s when running the DDR 8-bit HyperRAM device at 150 MHz. (At 150 MHz, the HyperRAM has a wire speed of 300 Mbyte/s).
